How Do You Play Tome of Madness?
- The game is played on a 5-reel, 5x5 grid.
- Symbols drop into the grid. A win is achieved by forming a cluster of 4 or more matching symbols that are connected vertically or horizontally.
- When a winning cluster is formed, those symbols disappear and new symbols drop down to fill the empty spaces, potentially creating new winning clusters. This cascade continues until there are no new wins.
- Wins are only counted for clusters, and only the highest win per cluster is paid.
Steps to Play:
- Select your bet using the bet buttons or by clicking the plus and minus signs at the bottom of the game. You can choose a minimum bet of £0.10 and a maximum bet of £5.00.
- Click the START button or use the Spacebar to begin the game round with the selected bet.
- The payout for each symbol combination is shown in the paytable, accessible within the game.

What Are the Game Features?
- Eye Marks: Eye Marks appear randomly. When a win occurs in their position, that Eye Mark is opened. After no further wins are possible, 2 SPECIAL WILDS are added to the grid.
- Portal Charges: Every win contributes to charging the Portal as follows:
- After wins from 7 symbols, 2 SPECIAL WILDS are added.
- After wins from 14 symbols, 2 SPECIAL WILDS are added. If a win is formed with a SPECIAL WILD, the ABYSS Portal Effect is triggered.
- After wins from 27 symbols, 2 SPECIAL WILDS are added. If a win is formed with a SPECIAL WILD, the VOID Portal Effect is triggered.
- ABYSS Portal Effect: Removes a row or column from the position of the winning SPECIAL WILD. Any additional SPECIAL WILD removed this way will also trigger the effect from its position. Removed symbols contribute to charging the Portal.
- VOID Portal Effect: Randomly selects one type of regular symbol and removes all instances of it from the grid.
- Other World Free Round: Awarded when you achieve wins from 42 symbols in a round, triggering 1 free round with 3 random Portal Effects. An additional Portal Effect is added for every 3 extra winning symbols collected, up to a maximum of 7 Portal Effects.
- Portal Effects in Free Round: Each Portal Effect is activated when no further wins are achieved.
- 4 SPECIAL WILDS are added to the grid.
- ABYSS: 4 SPECIAL WILDS are added. Any win with a SPECIAL WILD triggers the ABYSS effect.
- VOID: 4 SPECIAL WILDS are added. Any win with a SPECIAL WILD triggers the VOID effect.
- Mega Wild Cthulhu: During the Other World Free Round, between 11 and 12 Eye Marks are visible. If wins are formed at all Eye Mark locations, the Mega Wild Cthulhu symbol is released onto the grid, moving down with each cascade until there are no further wins.
How Are Winnings Calculated?
- Wins are paid for adjacent symbols in clusters, based on the game’s paytable and rules.
- Multiple cluster wins in a single round are combined.
- All rewards from features, such as Free Rounds and bonus effects, are added to cluster wins.
- Winning clusters must be horizontally or vertically connected, with no gaps. Cluster wins can originate from any position on the grid.
How Can You Manage Your Bet?
- Select your wager using five preset bet buttons, or adjust the amount up or down using the plus and minus buttons.
- The game automatically reduces your bet if your balance falls below the current bet value. The bet is only decreased and does not return to the previous level after any subsequent wins.
What Happens If the Game Is Interrupted?
If your session is interrupted, the game saves your progress and wagers. You can resume from where you left off once you reopen the game. Any incomplete bets that remain unsettled for 90 days will become void. In the event of a malfunction, all bets and payouts for that round are cancelled.
