The Rise of Aztec base game is played on a 5x5 reel layout with 3125 ways to win. In a “ways” game, winning combinations are formed by landing matching symbols on adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost reel.

A Mystery Symbol Feature can be triggered randomly during any spin. When activated, all mystery symbols on the reels transform into the same randomly selected symbol, which may include Bonus Scatters.

Mystery Symbol

Bonus Scatter

Landing 5 or more Bonus Scatters triggers the Lock & Slingo™ Bonus feature. The Super Wild Symbol also counts as a Bonus Scatter.

Bonus scatter coin values in both the base game and the Lock & Slingo™ Bonus can be 0.20, 0.50, 0.80, 1, 1.20, 1.50, 1.80, 2, 3, 5, 10, or 50 times the base stake of the triggering spin.

Mystery Symbol Feature

The Mystery Symbol Feature can be triggered on any spin during the base game. When activated, all mystery symbols on the reels transform into the same randomly chosen symbol, which may include Bonus Scatters.

Super Wild Respin

The Super Wild Respin Feature is triggered when a Super Wild Symbol lands on the reels. This Super Wild Symbol acts as both a Wild and a Bonus Scatter. Once triggered, a respin is awarded. If one or more Bonus Scatters land during the respin, an additional respin is awarded. The feature continues until no new Bonus Scatters appear.

Lock & Slingo™ Bonus

The Lock & Slingo™ Bonus is triggered by landing five or more Bonus Scatter Symbols on the reels. During this feature, the game transitions to a new 5x5 grid with a Lock & Win mechanic. In the Lock & Slingo™ Bonus, players begin with three lives. Each time a Scatter or Super Wild Symbol lands on the reels, players' lives reset to three, prolonging the bonus round. The feature continues as long as these two locked symbols keep appearing. The bonus round ends if no Scatter or Super Wild Symbol lands during three consecutive spins.

Slingo™ in Lock & Slingo™ Bonus

Each time a Slingo is achieved, the corresponding ladder prize is added to the cash value of every position in that specific Slingo line. If multiple Slingos are achieved at once, all positions in those lines receive the highest prize from the reached ladder level.

The cash values displayed on the Slingo ladders during the Lock & Slingo™ Bonus are 0.50, 1, 1.50, 2, 2.50, 3, 3.50, 4, 10, 20, and 50 times the base stake of the triggering spin.

Super Wild in Lock & Slingo™ Bonus

When a Super Wild Symbol lands on the reels, the Super Wild instantly completes a Slingo line that the Super Wild is part of.

A Slingo line is a line of five marked positions on the grid: horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. There are 12 Slingo lines:

  • 5 horizontal
  • 5 vertical
  • 2 diagonal

There are 11 awards because the last number on the grid will always award at least 2 winning lines. Multiple Slingo lines can be awarded by one lock.
